Character Backstory
Ryan Matthews is an English Teacher at West Beverly Hills High. He is considered to be a "cool" teacher, and his unorthodox teaching style puts him at odds with his fellow teachers and often causes him to develop close (inappropriately close) relationships with his students.

Kelly Taylor and Brenda Walsh duke it out for his affection. He is also Kimberly's love interest (the undercover narcotics cop posing as a student at West Beverly High).
