'90210' News: Jessica Lowndes To Begin 'Titillating' Lesbian Relationship With Rumer Willis Source: MTVOctober 30, 2009
"90210" resident Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes, pictured right) is one hot mess. As if she hasn’t been through enough already (she fought a drug addiction and had a baby all in one year), the confused teen now has to mend her broken heart after cheating and breaking-up with "perfect" boyfriend Navid (Michael Steger). While speculation is circulating that Adrianna might fall back into her drug abusing ways, rest assured that Adrianna will be moving on with the help of her girlfriend—yes, we said girlfriend. According to EW, Adrianna will be starting a new relationship, but this time it won’t be with any of Beverley Hill’s eligible men (like her ex and our former Hump Day Hottie Trevor Donovan!). Instead she will be exploring her options and making a real love connection with a gay West Beverly student, Gia (played by Rumer Willis). “This isn’t a fling,” exec producer Rebecca Sinclair told the magazine. “We’re coming at this [relationship] from a genuine place and not going, ‘Let’s do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.’ This is a real aspect of teenager life that’s interesting…" She’s right about one thing, it sure will be interesting! Rumer hasn't been seen much this season, except for in the school's newspaper meetings. And while, this straight-girl-turned-lesbian-angle has been seen before (paging: "The O.C."), who knows, maybe "90210" will turn up the volume and make it a compelling arc.
ADD A COMMENT | '90210': Five burning questions from the season so far October 27, 2009 Source: LA Times Aren’t you happy you stuck with “90210” for its sophomore season? I’ve even witnessed some of the most curmudgeonly of TV writers proclaim their surprise at the show’s successful makeover. It would seem that as the producers have finally accepted that “90210’s” California location is an asset (not just another reason it isn’t “Gossip Girl”), the cast has relaxed into their roles as stylish, gorgeous, beach loving and dramatic L.A. rich kids as well. What's not to like about that?
This week’s repeat episode of the premiere is a bummer, but it does allow us to ruminate over the first quarter-season’s dirtiest plots and love affairs. It also allows us a moment away from the distraction of the pretty flashing lights (also known as TV) to go over some of the unanswered questions of the season, so far.
Here are my top five burning questions of “90210’s” first seven episodes this season:
1. What is under Liam’s tarp? On the surface, Liam is the best advertisement for sending your delinquent kid to military camp. The most violent thing he has done all season is breaking a glass door during a fight with Jen. Last season’s Liam would’ve broken three glass doors in one episode. This season, I was baffled by his self-control. That is until Teddy’s yacht party in Episode 3 when Annie lied (not convincingly) to Naomi that she not only slept with Liam that night but that they were having an affair at the time.
That episode ends with Liam shuffling through blueprints. Later in the season, the guys are playing pool at Liam’s place and there’s something under a tarp that he won’t let the guys see. What could it be? A bomb? Will the season finale be a blast, literally? A motorcycle sidecar that will win back Naomi, so they can share more rebellious drives up PCH? How romantic! Whatever it is, I have to know.
2. Is Sasha really pregnant? There has always been something about Sasha that I didn’t quite trust. Maybe it’s her penchant for multi-colored tops and costume jewelry. Or when she was deejaying on the yacht and she would make like she was scratching, but the music had no scratches in it. Or (and this is a far-fetched reason, I know) the fact that she dated a kid who’s still in high school. My point is that she has exhibited signs that she just isn’t right. So, isn’t it entirely possible that she made up the pregnancy to get Dixon back? I think so. Plus, didn’t we just go through "Teen Parenting 101" last season with Adrianna? I can’t believe that the writers want to do that storyline again. I, for one, am tired of that plot line. Babies are exhausting.
3. Is Silver and Kelly’s mom really sick?
It's a horrible thought, I know, but don’t tell me some of you aren’t thinking the same thing. And if you insist I’m alone on this one, please see the reader comment from last week. I am in no way trying to minimize the suffering of those with cancer, but it’s “90210!" If any of you have had the unique experience of watching the original “Beverly Hills, 90210,” you’d know that Jackie Taylor is one of the most selfish characters in the ZIP code and she was built to throw her kids off-kilter. I definitely think it’s way more likely that Sasha is faking her pregnancy than it is that Jackie is faking her prognosis. There’s no way both will be the case, I’m sure. Whatever happens, one thing is certain: Jackie hasn’t lost her talent for shaking up her kids' lives.
4. When will Harry and Kelly hook up already? Yes, this deserves a “when will it happen” question, not a “will it happen” question. All signs point to Harry and Kelly at least locking lips, if not doing the nasty in the janitor’s closet. I could be clouded by my own boredom of this entire storyline. Wouldn’t it have been easier (and more interesting) if Harry was a single father who moved himself and his kids back home to Beverly Hills after his wife’s passing? That way we could see Harry start to date again, rekindle a past flirtation with Kelly and challenge Mr. Matthews for her affection? Instead, we’re left with this tired emotional cheating storyline that Rob Estes can’t bring any subtlety to. The only thing we’d miss in my alternate scenario is Lori Loughlin’s excellent performance as the suspicious, angry wife. I need to know when this will end or, better yet, when this will really get started.
5. When will killing Jasper’s uncle come back to haunt Annie? Not much has been said about Annie’s hit-and-run killing for a few episodes, but the stage is set for some major payback. First, we know the victim’s identity. It was getting pretty uncomfortable referring to him as “the bum” for so many weeks. Second, we know that Jasper is nuts, as evidenced by his stalking of (and coincidentally stopping the date-rape of) Annie and his fascination with knives – which circumstantially supports Mark’s claim that he had pulled a knife on someone at school. Finally, we learned that there is a police investigation and Teddy (possibly the sole eyewitness to the crime) is cooperating. Now, all we need is for everyone to catch up with us. One thing’s for sure: If the police don’t get her, Jasper will.

| 90210's New Surfer Chick Talks Love TrianglesSource: Tv Guide.com Oct. 20, 2009 While Liam (Matt Lanter) may be attempting to make amends with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), he's momentarily distracted when Ivy (Gillian Zinser) arrives. She's a cool California chick who joins the surfing team -- and the West Bev boys' club. Zinser sat down with TVGuide.com to introduce us to 90210's version of Spicoli and to dish on how Ivy will affect Naomi and Liam's rocky road to relationship recovery.TVGuide.com: Ivy is the quintessential surfer chick who hangs out with the guys. Gillian Zinser: I got a little Spicoli going on. [Laughs] Ivy is fun as hell. She's definitely the quintessential California girl, but she's smart. She's really smart and sassy and quick-witted. She's totally one of the guys, as she's part of the surf team and demands her respect in that manner. But a lot of that confident, bro'd out shtick is soon to be broken down when you see her vulnerable for the first time in her intimate moments with Liam. Although she joins the cast as an atypical chick, you see a lot of layers unravel and unfold the more we get to know her. 90210: Can't we all just get along? TVGuide.com: Matt Lanter told us Ivy and Liam's relationship starts out as a fight. Zinser: Yeah, well, he's all up in my grill, giving me sh--. He's super obnoxious, so Ivy definitely throws it back in his face. She definitely doesn't tolerate that kind of crap. I think that immediate, head-butt tension becomes some strange form of attraction. Liam definitely has a lot of respect for Ivy as he gets to know her and sees that she's not going to let kids walk on her. He definitely finds something interesting about her, and that grows into some form of quick little crush and maybe a slight addiction. We've all had our thoughts about our best friends, so that will be interesting story as it unfolds. TVGuide.com: Being the only girl in a group of guys, I would assume there's some tension there. Zinser: It's definitely her comfort zone. She's not the kind of girl that needs makeup and mirrors to give her that ramification of confidence in the morning. She throws her sh-- on, she goes out, rips her waves, she comes to school, does her sh--, she hangs out and doesn't take life too seriously, which is definitely not the same as the other girls who are way more dramatic and girly and rightfully so. Ivy being more like guys gives her that easy-in to the group, but at the same time, she suffers that complex of being one of the dudes and not necessarily noticed as a girl when she wants to be. I relate a lot to that in real life. It's really great being able to kick it with the guys and have genderless relationships and friendships, but there are times we all kind of wish that dude didn't think I was such a dude and maybe looked at me as more of a girl sometimes. That's how Liam and I develop there. TVGuide.com: What do we learn of Ivy's past? Zinser: My mom is this really rad bohemian music producer, so I've been raised in a really laid back, hippy-ish bohemian household. We don't know too much about my pops quite yet; that'll be interesting. For the most part, Ivy has her sh-- together. She's cool, calm and collected. Liam is really the introduction to Ivy's vulnerable side. Outside of that, she's pretty easy-going. TVGuide.com: How is Naomi going to feel about Ivy getting close to her man? Zinser: How can she not help but be jealous? I'm sure there's a lot of tension there. She's definitely going to try to win him back at some point. I'm sure he's going to revisit his feelings for her, but my guess is that if he leaves Ivy, he's going to have to look back and wonder if that was the right decision. I'm sure there will be a love triangle between Naomi, Ivy and Liam inevitably. 90210 airs Tuesday at 8/7c on the CW. ADD A COMMENT
| 90210 vs. Melrose Place: Which Was More Scandalous? Wed, 10/07/2009 Source: BuzzSugar Meh. Maybe I'm still feeling down on the Tuesday night double-header after last week, but the latest episodes of 90210 and Melrose Place seemed irksome. Really Sasha, did you actually take Dixon back after learning he's in high school?! Come on. And then there's the whole Lauren prostitution storyline that, to me, is feeling a little tired already. Still, leave it to The CW to give us several salacious plot points! Let's dissect them, shall we? Check out my list of big moments from both shows, and then tell me which one you think deserves the award for this week's drama queen when youread more. - 90210 point: Naomi finds out that her grades aren't good enough to get into her dream college, so she fakes being a tree-hugger to woo the dean's son into dating her. How hilarious was it to see her on a bike with a helmet and a Sigg bottle?!
Melrose Place counterpoint: David and Jonah's friendship gets tested when Jonah is accused of stealing a necklace. Jonah believes that David might have taken it, confronts him, and a nervous David denies, denies, denies. Then the jewelry miraculously reappears... - 90210 point: Teddy and hottie classmate Jasmine double date with Navid and Adrianna. After an icky spit-swapping battle between the couples. Adrianna and Teddy confront each other in the hallway and start a mini makeout sesh of their own.
MP counterpoint: Violet is trying to get between Auggie and well, anyone. When she realizes that he's friends with a female bartender at the restaurant, Violet plants money in her purse so the poor girl gets fired. Looks like Violet is going to take over her job so she can sink her claws more into Auggie. - 90210 point: Dixon loses his cover when Sasha runs into his mom at the nail salon. He spends the rest of the episode trying to win her back —and succeeds. I'm only further convinced that Sasha is an idiot. First, she doesn't realize that Dixon's only 17, and then she still sleeps with him knowing the truth? Oh, Sasha, this will not end well for you.
MP counterpoint: Lauren gets into her new call girl career and enters into an agreement with her madam. (Hello, did you see that crazy pimp hair?!) Then Lauren does a striptease for a client that was a bit borderline porno. I actually wanted to shower afterward. - 90210 point: Silver bolts after seeing her mother at Adrianna's AA meeting. Later, her mom tries to give her a car to make amends, so Silver shows up to AA — then gets up in front of the room and tells her mother to stay away from her. Ouch. What's even worse: We later learn that Jackie has cancer.
MP counterpoint: We learn a whole lot more about Ella, like that she hired a P.I. to break into Sydney's apartment on the night of her murder to find evidence that Sydney was trying to ruin her career. With her alibi ruined, it seems she may just end up in handcuffs very soon. Okay, this one goes to Melrose Place. Even though Dixon and Teddy both make solid cases for 90210, Lauren's impromptu bedroom dance was one of the racier things I've seen on TV in a while. What do you think? Does 90210 deserve more credit? ADD A COMMENT
| 90210 Studs Gush About Guest Star Samantha Ronson: "She Was Awesome!" Source: E! Online Oct. 5, 2009
What the heck is Hollywood DJ-to-the-stars Samantha Ronson doing on 90210? Handing out love advice, of course! Who better than the gossip rag regular to stop by Beverly Hills and impart some wisdomto the younguns. We caught Matt Lanter (Liam) and Michael Steger (Navid) at I Fly Hollywood just before they tried some indoor skydiving, and the twosome chatted about the DJ's upcoming guest spot. "Liam's trying to talk Navid into going over and talking to some girls and Samantha chimes in. It was fun. She's cool," said Matt. Plus, it was a surprise for the cast. "She was in the script under some other character’s name," explains Michael, "and then the day of, Samantha Ronson showed up." How exactly does SamRo fit into the episode? Keep reading to find out... Michael couldn't stop raving about the cool episode setup for both Sam and musical guest Pharrell Williams. "She played a DJ over at Edison Bar in Los Angeles, and Pharrell actually performed that night. It was awesome," said the star. As for Liam's always-uncertain future with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Matt is hopeful. "There’s going to be many more ups and downs, a roller coaster of problems. Me and AnnaLynne want it to happen—we want Liam and Naomi to get back together, so hopefully they’re working on it." Don't get too excited just yet, tubers. Newcomer Gillian Zinser is joining the cast soon, and her presence won't make it easy for Liomi. "Liam's got a new surfer chick love interest, and she incorporates into the group a little bit," teased Matt.

| 90210's Shenae Grimes: 'People Got Annoyed with Seeing Annie Smiling All the Time!'Source: movieline.com Oct. 1, 2009
“Annie smiles too much!” “She’s too much of a goody-goody!” “She always has the least interesting storylines!” When 90210 premiered last year to enormous expectations, actress Shenae Grimes saw her lead character come in for a whole lot of criticism, but there was one thing her detractors didn’t know: Secretly, Grimes agreed with them. In a candid, exclusive interview with Movieline, the 19-year-old Toronto native detailed her frustration with last season’s storylines and praised new showrunner Rebecca Sinclair for taking Annie down a dark path at the same time as the show itself gets a necessary infusion of California sunshine. Whether we were talking about screen time, the firing of Dustin Milligan, or the rap ascent of her former Degrassi costar Aubrey Graham, the rejuvenated Grimes had plenty to say. They sure are giving you some juicy **** this year! Finally! It’s about time. [Laughs] You know, it was a little frustrating last year to be put through the wringer as a teenage girl — I know teenage girls, and I know they don’t put up with crap like that. It was frustrating to never see Annie emote anything other than smiles and “being the bigger person.” Everyone reaches a boiling point, and Annie’s might be higher than everyone else’s, but it’s meant for a bigger explosion, I think. I keep expecting Annie to go Goth for some reason. She’s suffered through a hit-and-run, her friends have abandoned her, a naked picture of her was sent to the entire student body…the girl’s gotta break out some black lipstick! I know, right? But that’s the great thing…Frank [Helmer, costume designer] and Rebecca have put together this look for her that is really the fresh girl next door, which is a great juxtaposition for where my character’s at internally. She’s in a dark place and they don’t want to play that up on the outside because they want me to try to fight against what I’m feeling inside. It’s no secret that 90210 went through a lot of retooling last season. How much input did you have in that? Last year, I was really nervous as to where my character was going because it didn’t feel like she was going very far. Like I said, a character that’s one-note is the most boring character to play, and it was very frustrating for me — I think Rebecca could sense that and could see it in my eyes. My instincts were to play up the emotion, and oftentimes we would get notes like, “OK, we have to do it more network,” or “We have to be more smiley,” or “Don’t get too upset, because that’s not what people want to see from Annie.” People got annoyed with seeing Annie smiling all the time! "Everything seemed a little one-note until that [season one] finale, which kind of kicked me in the ass. I was like, “All right, here we go!” Like, I’ve been asking for it, so how do I deal with this huge challenge?" So Rebecca picked up on that and I picked up on it, and I think both of us were dying for a change. Everything seemed a little one-note until that [season one] finale, which kind of kicked me in the ass. I was like, “All right, here we go!” Like, I’ve been asking for it, so how do I deal with this huge challenge? How do I make the audience buy it? Rebecca’s big thing is subtlety, realism, character development. Annie’s not been falling 24/7, she’s not always devastated and distraught, it’s something she’s processing and going through internally. Her behavior’s demonstrating what she’s going through on the inside, but it’s not thrown in your face like the drama was last year, because that’s not realistic. Nobody is that upfront with their ****. [Laughs] Was the network OK with Annie’s transformation this year? I think so. You know, when I say “network,” I don’t really know who that is — I’m hearing it through the director’s voice. Old producers, new writers, old writers…I think everyone’s opinions got a little bit muddy, you know? This year, Rebecca came in with a clear vision of what she wanted, and she made sure she had a team together that was ready to make this vision come to fruition. The network, I think, was really excited about it, and once they saw that material cut together, I think they really appreciated what Rebecca did. What’s interesting is that although you’re still the lead, you’re getting to engage in the darker storylines that usually only go to the supporting characters. Absolutely! You know, what all six of us kept saying last year was, “They can’t make us unlikable yet.” They’ve got to make sure that the audience likes us and wants to tune in every week — they can’t give us anything too dramatic or change our characters too much because they don’t feel like the audience is invested in us yet. Now that we have a more solid fanbase, [the writers] have really found a way to allow each of us to go through those darker times. Still, for as happy as you sound about the new direction, it’s got to be have been jarring when they let Dustin Milligan go. You spent almost all of the first season acting opposite him. Well, tell me about it, I can’t keep my mouth shut about that. Dustin is an amazing human being and an amazing actor, and I think he slapped everybody in the face when he got nominated for Teen Choice and none of us girls did. [Laughs] It’s a sad thing for all of us that we don’t get to work with him anymore, but he’s going to go on to bigger and better things, I’m sure. The pilot episode last year was all about you. Was it strange to get the script for the second season premiere and you’re not even in it until several minutes in? Yeah. Tell me about it. Shocking, I guess, but at the same time, a little bit relieving. I was working like a dog last year. It took a toll on me, so as long as the material’s there, I’m not complaining. I’d be nervous if my character was standing out and I didn’t see her involved anymore, but to be honest, I feel like I’ve got some of the best material on the show this year.Let’s talk about the pressure you were under last year. You weren’t signing onto some under-the-radar project — you were cast in probably the most high-profile pilot of the season. Still, were you prepared for that spotlight? Absolutely not. I never expected to really even become famous, as stupid as that sounds. The world that I was brought up in…it just didn’t exist, and never in my wildest dreams would I imagine being one of the girls on the cover of the tabloids. I could never fathom that being my face, even when I got the job and everyone said, “Hang on,” I kind of shrugged it off. It wasn’t until I was followed every day, and it wasn’t until the crazy negative stories got written, and it wasn’t until I realized, “Everybody wants a piece of you,” that it really sunk in. It was such a shock to the system, and I was super resentful of it last year. I had never been one of those people that got into it for the fame — that’s kind of the ******** that I have to deal with. I like acting, you know? So it was culture shock for me, and it took a while to find a way to be OK with it and to accept having [paparazzi] in your face and figure out how to keep them at a distance and keep them bay. You separate your personal life from your professional life and acknowledge that you’re going to have to work a little harder to separate the two. "It’s a matter of, do you give a **** if you look really hot every time, all the time, when somebody sees you? Do you care what people think, do you read comments online?" How do you get used to that when you have photographers that follow you when you’re just going to get a cup of coffee? I don’t care, that’s the difference. It’s a matter of, do you give a **** if you look really hot every time, all the time, when somebody sees you? Do you care what people think, do you read comments online? I don’t. I go to the gym in the morning without any makeup on. Sorry, guys, if you think I’m ugly, but I don’t know anybody who goes to the gym with makeup on. [Laughs] You’re not going to catch me doing it. When I go outside in the morning for coffee, I’m not going to spend forty-five minutes getting ready. I just don’t care. Do you feel like it’s died down a bit this year? Oh, yeah. I keep saying, thank God for Melrose Place and Vampire Diaries! Sorry kids, but you can take the heat off of us. We’re old news, we’re the sophomores, [the paparazzi] don’t care about us anymore. It’s kind of nice to be able to go to work, focus on my work, leave work, and live my life. It’s nice to have that balance, because there was no balance at all last year. It was a really, really exhausting year. Speaking of Vampire Diaries, that stars Nina Dobrev, who was on Degrassi: The Next Generation with you — and we can’t forget your Degrassi costar Aubrey Graham, who blew up this year under his nom de rap Drake. It’s about time! I think I was the first kid, really, to get work in the States and make that break. It’s really hard as a Canadian actor to make a footprint in the States, because of the visa stuff. I’m so proud, though, and so blown away; like, what a fluke, Nina getting the lead in Vampire Diaries a year after 90210. Props to her, though: She’s always been a star. She’d not been on Degrassi that long, and I knew from the first year she was on it, I was like, “This girl’s going to go far.” I’m not shocked at all. And Aubrey! He’s been rapping and whatever for years, but none of us really expected it to blow up like it did. We didn’t really know if he walked the walk because he didn’t really share that side of his life with us: It was Aubrey Graham of Degrassi, and then that Drake world was a different world for him. This is the first time that I’m really seeing it and he’s just huge! None of us really kept in touch, which is a shame, but I’m so unbelievably proud that he’s made it despite all that. So what’s in store for Annie? Where do you want to see her go this season? I want to see Annie grow for the first time in her life. She’s never taken a moment to breathe and look inside herself…she’s really a loner right now. There’s another new boy on the show, and we’ll see her struggle with that relationship for a while, but that relationship’s going to bring her down to the ultimate breaking point. You might think she’s already there, but she’s not there yet. Who’s the new boy she’s getting involved with? Zach Sherman, he plays Jasper, who’s the new creepy, Christian-Slater-from-Heathers kind of character. It’s kind of an “everything” relationship. He becomes too significant in her world, and that’s why she goes down the journey she’ll be going down.
ADD A COMMENT | '90210': Jessica Lowndes fields fan questions on the fate of 'No Drama Adrianna,' her singing career and the new hair Source: LA Times October 01, 2009
This season on “90210,” Adrianna emerged with a new look, a new moniker (“No Drama Adrianna”), and a new relaxed outlook on her post-drug, post-preggers life. She was doing a good job of laying low – until last week, that is, when she almost kissed Teddy at his yacht party. Is the old Adrianna starting to resurface? “Something is definitely going to go down,” said Jessica Lowndes, the Vancouver native who plays "90210’s" Adrianna Tate-Duncan. “It’s definitely going to get really dramatic really fast. She’s going to go back to ‘Drama Adrianna.’” Up until now, Navid has been getting most of the flack for being jealous of Adrianna’s relationship with Teddy. Lowndes says that her character should share in some of the blame. “I think she’s in a little bit of denial with obviously the attraction that’s still there with Teddy,” Lowndes, 20, explained. “I think she realizes there that she still has feelings for Teddy, and Navid was right all along.” Lowndes took some time out to answer not only our questions, but a few from her fans, as well: You weren’t supposed to be a regular on “90210,” right? When I signed on, I was only supposed to be in the first two or three episodes. Next thing I know, my character had a pregnancy and a drug addiction, and I was offered a series regular. I’m still pinching myself because this is so much more than I even thought was possible. I’m also very fortunate that they’ve given Adrianna such real, pressing issues in society, and they deal it with it in such an honest way. I try my hardest. I’m constantly challenged as an actress, because it’s all out of my comfort zone and they’re things I have no experience with. Adrianna was a child actress, gone wrong, which brings me to one of the fan questions... Michele M. on Facebook asks, “Were you a child actor like your character on the show?” I got an agent when I was 16 up in Vancouver, Canada. I didn’t take it seriously until I was 17. I booked a show up in Vancouver the summer before the 12th grade. And I just realized I wanted to be in L.A. so bad. I got a management company down here, and I ended up home-schooling my senior year here in three months. I did it online – very difficult, but I wanted to be here. I knew this was my passion and something I wanted to do. I did a couple other things. Like, I did a horror movie, "The Haunting of Molly Hartley," and the show “Greek.” I was fortunate to get work right away, but “90210” was the first big thing and the first steady work. It’s just absolutely amazing. I’m so happy. Adrianna’s relationship with Silver and Naomi has gotten a lot tighter. They’re like the mean girls of West Bev now. So, Michele M. also wonders, “Are there cliques among the cast?” I didn’t get to work a lot with many of the girls last season. I was usually by myself or with the original [90210 cast]. I filmed a lot with Michael Steger, who in real life is one of my really good friends. I hang out with him and Matt Lanter a lot as well. This year, I get to film with the girls, and I’ve been having such a fun time. And we’ve all been hanging out. So, there are really no cliques. It just depends on who you’re filming with is who you spend most your time with. Many people don’t know this, but you’re a singer as well. Recently you sang “God Bless America” at a Dodgers game. What was that like? It was insane and so amazing. It just made me realize I just love performing, and it’s something I put aside for the acting thing, which is fine. But I miss it, and I’ve definitely been in the studio, working hard. Denise K. on Twitter has some questions regarding your music. First, she wonders if you’ll be releasing a record soon. I’m very excited, actually. We’re going to be incorporating some of my music into the show this year, which is great. I was hired originally as the singer for the show [in the first season’s production of Spring Awakening]. I get to do more of that this year. It’s something I’m putting a lot of my focus into. I’ve been back in the studio. I hope by next year to have some songs out that can be on the show, as well, or kind of do my own thing. But I definitely want a singing career, and it’s probably the next step. Denise K. also wants to know what you’re listening to right now. That’s the hardest question ever, because I’m obsessed with so many styles of music. Right now, I’ve been listening to the band Stateless and the song “Bloodstream.” That’s kind of been on repeat. I’m actually obsessed with it. But, I also love LMFAO. They performed at my birthday party last year. And also the band Yoav – I’ve been listening to a lot lately, as well. But Stateless is my No. 1 that I’ve been listening to a lot lately. Adrianna’s look is totally different on the show, but the thing I get asked about most is the new hairstyle – longer, no more bangs. Lara T. on Facebook wonders, “Did her hair grow really fast over hiatus, or are those extensions? If so, I think they're really good extensions.” Can you settle the extension controversy? Before I booked the show, I had really, really long hair. And they told me that the only way to get the part was to cut all my hair off and get straight-across bangs [laughs]. It was a very intense look, but it worked perfectly for my character. Last year, she was the type to want everything perfect and she was under a lot of pressure. We wanted her to be sort of hidden by those bangs at the beginning and be unassuming. As my character has grown, so has the hair. I love it this year. So, over the span of nine months my hair has grown quite a bit [laughs]. I’m loving it. I’m loving the new Adrianna look.

We're now in our third week of episodes from The CW's Tuesday night guilty-pleasure block, and while both 90210 and Melrose Place are in full swing, the latest batch of drama wasn't my favorite. Both shows seem to be setting up for some action-packed episodes later on in the season, but for now, let's discuss which was more juicy this week. Ready to figure out which episode get this week's crown of shameless scandal? Weigh in on the debate when you read more. - 90210 point: The episode kicks off with Adrianna dreaming of Navid, but it quickly turns into an ab-tastic vision of Teddy shirtless. Obviously she can't get the six pack out of her head and later locks lips with Teddy — and, of course, Silver catches a glimpse.
Melrose Place counterpoint: The gang gets a new landlord, and it's none other than Sydney's sister Jane. Violet greets her with one of her creepy dead-eyed smiles, and Jane wastes no time blackmailing Ella. - 90210 point: Dixon and his adult lady friend take it to the next level, hardcore! Massages, hotel rooms, showering together. . . that is, until Sasha discovers the trunk full o'porn in the trunk of the Lamborghini. Dixon continues to dig himself deeper into a mess of lies, I continue to wonder how the hell this woman hasn't figured out that he's only 17 yet.
MP counterpoint: When the cops come knocking at her door, Violet abandons ship and jumps out the window. She and Jane have a creep-off when Violet tells her that she's a long-lost niece, and Jane has her thrown in jail. - 90210 point: Liam and Jen take us on an emotional roller coaster. First Liam turns the tables on Jen when he gets dirt on her gold-digging past! But then Jen pulls the sweet and innocent act on Naomi instead of telling her that she slept with Liam, as Liam had requested. I felt so defeated until the episode's final moments where we learn that Liam has Jen's nasty confessions on tape.
MP counterpoint: Lauren heads to a hotel to meet Toby, and another dude quickly recognizes her as being a prostitute. First she gets offended, then agrees to sleep with him — but he won't pay up. Lauren has her first taste of the hard life when the john throws her in the corner, until she finds herself a madam. - 90210 point: When Annie's hit-and-run homeless guy leaves $100K to West Beverly in his will, his creepy nephew comes out of the woodwork. By the end of the episode he offers to "take Annie for a ride" and she accepts. I do not like where this is going.
MP counterpoint: Michael hires a guy to follow David; David figures it out and punches the guy in Auggie's restaurant. Auggie is not pleased. - 90210 point: Navid and Adrianna finally get it on.
MP counterpoint: Ella and David finally get it on. So who's the big winner of the week? I'm giving this one to 90210. Partly because Liam finally figured out how to take Jen down, and partly because I really enjoyed the inclusion of an actual high-school level crime — cutting class! What do you think? Does crazy Violet warrant more credit in the scandal department?
